Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Load Buddha)
Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy is the most prominent and sacred
Buddhist shrine in Sri Lanka, even in the world.
This historic temple houses one of the tooth
relic of Load Buddha. Sri Lankana buddhist believe that there
are two tooth relics of Load Buddha are in
Sri Lanka. The second one is believed in Somawathiya Dageba
in Polonnaruwa District.

Sri Dalada Maligawa is a UNESCO designated World Heritage site and millions of Buddhist from
whole over the world visit this place annualy.
The annual Asela Perahera ( Usually schedule in July- August) in each year attracts large devotees and
tourist to Kandy city. This procession has a long history and very colorful event, where you can
see many Sri Lankan cultural items.
Museum Of Raja (The Maligawa Tusker)
This small museum was built to commemorate the service of the Raja elephant.
